Third Period




THE LAST CLASS!!!



My last class was on Thursday 7th


As always I tried to arrive early in order to prepare everything for the class fortunately this time half of the class was there. This time I just had to develop some practice about past modals. For the warm up activity I had some pieces of paper in which were written some responses using past modals; for example: ´´ I should have taken an umbrella´´, so what they had to do was that each student had to go to the front and choose one of them to create a situation related to the response given and the other classmates had to give responses in order to guess the one written in the piece of paper.

Then I had to develop some exercises from the book, in the first one I asked them to work in pairs they just had to complete some sentences with correct past modal then they shared their answers. For the second activity they continue working in pairs I asked them to describe things about a travel experience they had, for example; ´´something they had to do´´. In the last activity they had to rewrite some sentences using past modals first they shared them with some classmates and later with the rest of the class.
Then I had to develop a reading about postcards, first they had to discuss some questions related to the topic of the reading and then we discuss some interesting points of it. Then I said good bye to my students because they were very nice and they were always participating during my classes.

Third Period



 My second class



On Thursday 31st I had my second class.

This time I only had to develop some practice about the use of past modals. In this opportunity most of the students were on time so I could start the class with almost all students. For the warm up activity I gave them some pieces of paper in which they had to complete the following sentence ´´ I need some advice because….´´ and they could write a problem: for example; ´´I need some advice because I took my mother’s car without her permission and I crashed it´´.
So as they were studying past modals they had to give a response using any of the past modals, they could answer. You shouldn’t have taken the car or You should have asked for permission. After they wrote the complete sentence I asked them to work in pairs in order to share their situations and their responses. For the a second activity they continued working in pairs, I wrote some responses on the board and I gave them some sentences so they had to choose the best response according to each situation. After they finished I asked them to share their answers with the whole class and finally they wrote their responses on their notebooks.  For the next practice I asked them to create some questions using ´´Could Have´´ I gave them some phrases or words and also I used some flashcards to provide those words and they had to use them to create the questions. After they create the questions they had to write them on their notebooks. As a last activity I gave them some sentences and they had to create a response using past modals for each of them when they finished they share their responses with a classmate and then with the whole class.

Third Period



My first class was on Thursday 24th

In this opportunity I had the chance to be with the same group from the second period.

This time I did not have to teach grammar I only had to develop a reading activity, at the beginning I was kind of nervous because students did not arrive and I had to start class, I had to start the class only with 5 students. To begin the class I developed the warm up activity, students had to choose a piece of paper in which were written the name of different kind of food so I asked one of them to go at the front. The other students who got the name of the food had to give clues in order to guess the name of the food as they were few students all of them had the chance to participate in the activity.

Then I had reading part it was about vegetarian people so I tried to introduce it by making some questions related to the topic, ´´What kind of food do you like?´´, ´´Do you know what a vegetarian is?´´, etc. After that I gave them some minutes to read the article and check new vocabulary. Then I made some questions in order to check if they got the main ideas from the reading. As a last activity student had to complete an activity from the book it was glossary in which they had to guess the meaning of some words from the text. During the class students were always participating but the only bad thing is that 8 students were there and the rest did not attend the class.
